Gemfields Group Ltd, the world’s largest supplier of responsibly sourced coloured gemstones, has announced the appointment of Maria Boyle Communications Ltd as its UK consumer communications agency following a five-way pitch.
The agency will be responsible for consumer public relations across Gemfields and Fabergé, the luxury jeweller acquired by the company in 2013.

The group owns the Kagem emerald mine in Zambia, the world’s single largest producing emerald mine, and the Montepuez ruby mine in Mozambique.
Maria Boyle, Director of Maria Boyle Communications Ltd, said: “We’re thrilled to be working with the team at Gemfields and are looking forward to raising consumer awareness of coloured gemstones and supporting its vision of becoming the De Beers of coloured gemstones.
“We’re also very honoured to be asked to promote Fabergé – a globally recognised name synonymous with ingenuity and playful use of colour.”
Emily Dungey, Marketing and Communications Director, said: “Gemfields and Fabergé have been developing a new phase of marketing and communications, so we’re delighted Maria Boyle Communications will be part of the PR team moving forward. The agency presented an extremely inspiring, insightful and hard-working consumer PR programme which strongly resonates with our vision and we are looking forward to getting started this month.”
